'awesome' is a yuppie word....or is that happy?

I am so far behind on this award, that I was awarded TWICE!!!!!! First by dear Lauren and second by amazing Brianne! Both girls are seriously amazing, and I'm so honored to have been awarded by them. *blushes*

Which would you prefer; carousel or Ferris wheel? Definitely the carousel.....I'm really afraid of heights. Plus, who doesn't love the frantic scurry around, trying to find your favorite horse? My childhood in a nutshell. :D

A ten dollar bill or two fives? Two five dollar bills just feels like more money, ya know? So I'll go with those. 

What is one of your favorite pastimes? Why is it? Do you benefit from it?  I've gone over most of my pastimes, so this time I'll go with soccer. I love it, for it gives me such a rush when I complete a good pass or make a good run. And yes, I do think I benefit from it. (:

Coffee mug, thermostat or a tall glass? A clear, tall glass, so I can see what I'm drinking and when I need a refill. :D

Stain glass windows or windows with lace? Hmmm....for my home, I would definitely choose windows with lace. But I adore the way stain glass windows look in churches. *shrugs* So I like both.

Cubed ice or crushed ice? I love to chew ice....so cubed.

A shopping trip downtown or a picnic in the country? Depends on my mood/who I'm with. Probably the picnic though....I can never afford anything on 'shopping trips' anyway. *sad sigh*

Would you rather sleep in a single bed or at the top of a bunkbed? Most definitely a single bed. I'm afraid that I would fall out of a bunkbed.

When you marry, will your bed be super soft and large or will it have a canopy over it? Super big and soft sounds good to me. Plus, I don't think my husband would like having a canopy.....'tis kind of girly.

What is the song you sing more frequently than others? "Must Have Done Something Right" by Relient K and "Daydreams" by Breanne Duren have been stuck in my head quite a bit lately, much to the chagrin of my brothers. *eye roll*

What time is it right now?! It is 10:35 pm, give or take a few minutes. =D

so much is going on, I can hardly take it in

I seem to think better in little snippets and pictures....so here ya go. ;)

1. I left the soccer team I've been on since I was nine. Things with the coach weren't going well, a few of my friends were leaving too.....and it was just time. I cried a lot last week, but I'm okay now. I got picked up by another great team, that has a friend from wayyyy back on it. I'll never forget my old girls, nor the times we've had together----but it's time for a new chapter in my life to start.

and He's already started to heal my heart. :)

2. On Tuesday, I went to Kings Dominion for the first time!!!! Abby and Brittany {teammates from the Christian school I played for} invited me....and I'm so glad they did! They actually managed to get me on three rollercoasters. *shakes head* Yes, I gave into peer pressure.....and yes, I did actually have a lot of fun. But don't worry: I did not let them get me on the Intimidator, the Drop Zone, or the Crypt {isn't that a scary name anyway?!?}. No matter how hard Abby and David pushed, I was not getting on any of those rides. Not even a pinky-promise could get me on the Crypt...first time I've ever broken one too. I think it was worth it, though.

Anyway, their youth group is so much fun, and I hope I get to hang with them all sometime again this summer.

3. On the way home, Abby and I were discussing Disney characters and stuff like that. Well, she decided that I am like Wendy from Peter Pan. When I wasn't too excited about that, David pointed out that I'm more like Mary-Jane from Spiderman. Thoughts?

Mary Jane....but I don't have red hair.

Wendy....but I don't have curls and my eyes aren't blue.

 

Oh well, I suppose Wendy and Mary Jane aren't the worst characters ever....I penned David as Mowgli from The Jungle Book {'cept with clothes} and Abby as Sally from Cars. *cracks up*

4. Once again, I'm getting the itch to travel. I wish I had my license so I could hop in the car, pop in a good cd, and just drive. I just need a change from my everyday life......

5. I finally got to see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides last weekend!!! Oh my word, I totally loved it. And, surprisingly, I didn't miss Will and Elizabeth too much.....thanks to this lovely couple.

 

PHILIP WAS A MISSIONARY!!!!!!!!!! And while he wasn't the most sound missionary ever, he still brought a better light to Christianity for the movie. I eventually learned to like Serena, even if she did *spoiler alert* almost cause Philip to die. Downside: the mermaids were really scary. Just sayin'.

6. The best thing about summer is the freedom to read whatever and whenever I want! Ted Dekker, Beverly Lewis, and C.S. Lewis have been dominating my reading chair lately. I'm so thankful for the library---without it, I would most certainly be broke from buying new books.

 

7. I'm having a serious longing for Disney World. It's been a year and a half since my family last went....and not being in the happiest place on earth is starting to tax me.Whenever I'm at Disney World, I can forget all the outside troubles and worries of normal life, and just be happy. I seriously want to be there right now.

it deserves to be bigger than everything else *giggles*

I hope she doesn't mind a post about her.....

  

We've gone to the same church our whole lives. She's four months younger than me. Her eye color changes  from blue to gray to anywhere in between, depending on the day. My nickname for her is EJ. And while she can be quiet, she's really quite witty and hilarious.

Her name is Emily, and she's my ubf---ultimate best friend.

Our science teacher says we're twin sisters separated at birth---which is pretty funny to think about. ;) And, by putting both our names together, we even became a molecule: the Lemily molecule.

We've survived church drama, becoming teenagers, entering highschool, crazy friends, and weird dreams together. We're completely different people, but deep down inside we're exactly the same.

She knows stuff about me that no one else knows. We've shared secrets, aspirations, and dreams. We laugh over stupid jokes and romantic rain scenes. We roll our eyes at our silly friends, and stress over homework assignments.

Emily and I can talk about anything without feeling awkward. Together, we're the perfect balance of cuteness, quietness, seriousness, laughter, and fun.

We've discussed kids, future husbands, jobs, and Heaven. We've taken silly photos, made up a fanfiction story on Warriors, and emailed since we were 12.

And despite having gone to church for all our lives together, we didn't really become friends until the summer of 2008. That was the summer her sister taught Into to French at our then-future co-op. Because it was two days a week for three weeks, and because our mothers wanted us to be friends, I stayed over each Monday night that June. It was during those three weeks that we truly became friends.

After that, we encountered Composition I together. Scared out of our wits, we took our very first outside-of-the-home class. To this day, I've never taken a major class at our co-op without Emily.

I believe it was last school year {2009-2010} that we officially became best friends. We had one class under out belts and were ready to conquer Comp II, Biology, and Public Speaking.

So many memories were made that year! (: Emily and I learned quite a lot about each other, didn't we? *wink wink*

Emily always knows the right words to say when I'm feeling down. She and I always know exactly what the other wants for Christmas/birthdays. We've never had a fight {mock ones don't count} and no matter what, she always sticks up for me. Sure, we tease each other, but I love her like a sister. I go almost insane if I don't see her at least once a week.

Sure, I do have other best friends{who doesn't?}.......but Emily is the most special.

Thanks for being there when I needed someone to talk to. Thank you for keeping my secrets, for making me laugh, and for always sticking by my side. I know I may not say it as often as I should.....but I thank God every day for you. (:

Yes, I know I just posted an award.....but life has been pretty hectic lately, and I haven't felt much like sitting down and writing a serious post. plus, this party includes some sweet prizes. *wink wink*

1. What are two songs that describe your life right know/you as a person? I'd say anything that is currently on my blog playlist....but most definitely 'Rebel Intro' by Lecrae and 'Strong Enough to Save' by Tenth Avenue North.

2. Do you like the color pink? Actually, I do! I used to have such an aversion for it, 'cause it used to be a "girly" color....but now I'm realizing that I like it, in proper amounts. (:

3. What is your favorite flower? Daisy, Queen Anne's Lace, or water lilies.

4. How many states have you been to? I've visited 9 states, but I've driven through at least 15.

5. What is your favorite thing about June? The feeling of school being over and just FREEDOM!

6. What do you most fear? Losing all my family members/friends and being physically alone.

7. What color dominates your wardrobe? Purple and green.

8. How do you normally do you hair? I usually just leave it down.

9. Do you prefer milkshakes or smoothies? Depends on my mood. ;)

10. Describe your “dream wedding location” An old, old Irish castle, overlooking green hills and a small Irish village.

That about does it for today. I've been doing a crazy amount of reading lately, which is quite nice. Just finished Showdown by Ted Dekker. Needless to say, it was mind blowing and wonderfully written. That guy is a seriously-good author. Kind of scary sometimes......but very good. =D

What's your favorite sweet *ahemunhealthyahem* thing to eat {or drink, ya' never know!}? Brownies, hot chocolate, candy canes, M&M's, Milky Way bars.....the list goes on and on.

Have you ever dreamed that Candyland was a real place? Not physically, no. But it would be a pretty cool place to go and visit!

If there was a flavored brand of bubbles, what flavor would you get? Strawberry, or root beer. mmmmmmmmmm

Have you ever been kicked out of a bakery for smelling everything? Psh, no. Though, trying to taste everything....that's another story. (:

Summer is actually a pretty nice season.

Hehe, I was on kind of a long break, no? Well, last weekend {and Monday} I was visiting family in Delaware/winning a soccer tournament. *yay us*
