Singing praises to our King

Soooo-----this past weekend was Awakening Fest! Such an awesome festival with Christian artists and bands. And this year they extended it to TWO WHOLE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-catches breath-

Okay, I'm good now. But it was seriously awesome!!!!!!

This is the first year my whole family has gone together. Back in 2008, just me, Dad, and Owen went. Then last year, I went with some friends. But it rained, so we didn't get to see anyone perform except Disciple. Not that they're bad! It was just really wet and I don't know any of their songs..........so yeah. Moving on to this year!

Mom and I bought tickets for both days, while Dad and the boys just got them for the first night. The lineup for Friday was Fireflight, Kutless, and Third Day. Talk about awesomeness!!!

We had seen Third Day and Fireflight at Winter Jam, so we were super stoked to be seeing them again! And I'm a fan of Kutless, so having them be there too was sweet.

That night was awesome. Fireflight rocked it out, Kutless did some good jams, and Third Day------I almost don't have words to describe this band. Their songs have had such an impact on my family. Mom's favorite is 'Born Again,' where Mac Powell sings the song accompanied by a female singer. The recorded song has Lacy Mosely from Flyleaf, but for WinterJam and Awakening Fest, Third Day used Dawn from Fireflight!!!! That girl has some serious vocals, and adds so much to the song! I wish they had recorded it with her. :)

So, here are some pictures from Friday night! I didn't take that many because 1. I was too busy singing 2. We were pretty far away from the stage for 'good' pictures and 3. The lighting was really bad.

Oh yeah, and did I mentioned the music was amazing?
