It still has not really sunk in yet. I've passed childhood, and now I'm right in between ten and twenty. What a crazy thought! I'll be driving in a little less than a year, and in less than four years I'll be in college. Wow.
When you are five, you want to be ten. When you're ten, you want to be fifteen. And now that I'm fifteen...........................I just want to be eighteen!!!
When you're in elementary school, middle school sounds like fun. Once you get there, all you want is to be in highschool. Now that I'm here, I really want to be in college!!
Humans are so fickle. We always want to go either forward or backward. We either want to be ten again or jump to twenty. We can't just be living right now, in the time God has given us.
So my goal for fifteen is to be thankful for where God has placed me, and the age I am right now. Sure, I'll still dream about the future and think fondly of the past, but I pray that God will give me the heart to be thankful for now.
Well, now that the somber part of my birthday is out of the way, time for some FUUUUUN!
It's quite popular in the blogging world to post random statements about you on your birthday! Except you're regulated to the number you are turning. So you all won't have to be put through torture for too long. ;)
Random things about ME!
1. I love having people brush my hair. Weird, yes, but I love it! Brittany does it the best. =D
2. The smell of old books sends shivers up my spine. Good shivers. If I pick up an old book with yellow pages and smell it, I'm instantly transported back years and years. I love imagining who read the book, where they read it, and why.
3. Old, black-and-white movies are awesome. Especially Alfred Hitchcock thrillers!
4. I wish I could play the drums. Maybe someday I'll take lessons.....
5. When I come up with a story, I can only picture the beginning and the ending. Never the middle. So annoying!!!!!
6. I dream of someday owning either a Ford Mustang or a VW Bug. The Mustang would be dark blue, or hunter green. The Bug would be spring green.
7. I cannot do a cartwheel. Isn't that sad? I think I could do one when I was a kid, but now.......not so much.
8. I love jewelry. And shoes. And purses. I'M CURSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
9. If a song comes in to my head, I have to sing it out loud. No matter the song, nor where I am. lol, I was singing Christmas hymns at my soccer camp in August!!!
10. I would choose an antique store over the mall any day. My mom and I could spend hours in antique stores. In fact, we have!!! :D
11. I love to laugh.Though when I do, my eyes crinkle up. Slightly annoying..........but I LOVE TO LAUGH!! You will instantly be my friend if you can make me laugh. =D
12. Wind makes me feel alive. On a windy fall day, I like to stand outside and close my eyes and feel the wind rushing through my hair and hear it whistling in my ears.
13. I love outdoor concerts. So long as it isn't raining. =D
14. My favorite meal is ham, applesauce, corn, and wide noodles. My second favorite would be roast beef, smashed spuds, and noodles. Third is grilled chicken, grilled veggies, and noodles (in case you haven't noticed, I like noodles!).
15. My favorite time to talk to God is while I'm walking Sammy, or as I'm falling asleep. When I'm outside, looking at His Creation, I feel so close to my Heavenly Father. And then, in bed......it just seems right. :)
Oh yeah.......................did I mention I'm 15? :)

"Humans are fickle"- true statement!!
And happy birthday! I recently turned 15 myself. :)
Thanks guys! I'm so excited to be one more year older....FIFTEEN!
" Wind makes me feel alive. On a windy fall day, I like to stand outside and close my eyes and feel the wind rushing through my hair and hear it whistling in my ears."
It's the most amazing feeling. It's times like this, especially at the beach -- when I can feel God's love, when I know he's right there with me.
And right now. I just feel close to Him. Isn't it just the most amazing feeling?
Right now, I love just being 14. I think about the future, about getting married and writing -- but I can't really imagine being anywhere but right here, right now!
Happy Birthday!:)
Happy birthday!! I hope you had an awesome birthday. I can not wait to turn fifteen in April and get my learners, I know you gotta be excited.
Let me just say that we have SO much in common. Seriously. I love it when people brush my hair. I love old, black and white movies. I dream of owning a ford mustang (no joke!). I want to learn how to play the drums. I can't do a cartwheel either. Oh my gosh, windy days are seriously awesome. I love them. I am the same exact way about standing outside and closing my eyes and feeling the wind. And I LOVE purses!
That is just crazy how much we have in common, girl we must soul sisters!! :)
