Ah, what a beautiful morning! The sun is coming in through the blinds, the birds are chirping from the tree by my window, and I'm about to start my schoolwork.
Last night, Dad took me and Aiden to a Washington Freedom game. (The women's professional soccer team). They won, 3-1. They played so much better than last week, when they lost 3-1. They were much more cohesive. The two forwards, Abby Wambach and Lisa DeVanna, work so well together. They remind me a lot of the forwards for my team: They can just flick it off to each other, then get it back, pass it around a few times, and get a shot on frame. It's nice to see that chemistry on a soccer team.
I also payed close attention to Becky Sauerbrunn, who played in midfield. Last year she was a defender, but this season Coach Gabarra moved her to midfield and pushed Sonia Bompastor back. Becky's situation is kind of like mine: We both got moved up to the midfield from our more comfortable role on defense. But, Becky is doing well in midfield, and I'm getting back in to the groove of it also.
There are my thoughts on the soccer game last night.......ttyl!
