Unschooling?

I just listened to a story about a family who unschools their kids.

Unschooling?

Up until ten minutes ago, I had never heard of 'unschooling.'
So what is it?
According to this family, it's jsut letting their kids learn what they want, when they want.
Interesting.
The kids are expected to make their own decisions about everything, from school to chores to meals! Yikes.

Even at my young age, I don't really see the benefits to this method. If a parent has a lazy child, he or she might never learn anything and won't get very far in the world.
Just my opinion, but I don't think this unschooling method is a very good one.
